Government Public Safety Officer Vehicles Added to List of Qualified Nonpersonal Use Vehicles
The Treasury Department and IRS today released for publication in the Federal Register proposed regulations (REG-106897-08) that would add “clearly marked public safety officer vehicles” to the list of qualified nonpersonal use vehicles that are excepted from the Code’s substantiation requirements.
The proposed regulations would affect employers (including state and local governments) that provide their employees with qualified nonpersonal use vehicles and employees who use these vehicles.
